Maths in the Learning Hub!

There is currently a display of new books on a variety of Mathematical related subjects in the Learning Hub. If numbers are your thing, and you like a puzzle, theorem, code or equation, come and borrow one of these new titles. These books have been recommended by Mrs. Christianson and she has provided a summary for each book, and suggested which year groups they are suitable for. There is something for everyone, from Year 7 to 13. Titles include: “Professor Stewart’s cabinet of mathematical curiosities”; “The Music of the primes”; “Alex’s adventures in numberland”; “The Code book”; and “Murderous maths”.

New Internationalist magazine

The Hub now subscribes to New Internationalist magazine, which should be of interest to Politics, Economics & Geography students. New Internationalist debates and campaigns on a wide range of global issues, from the cynical marketing of baby milk in the developing world, to climate change, to human rights in Burma. It’s truly international, with contributors from around the world, it’s independent and free from shareholder and corporate advertisers’ influence, and it’s intelligent – New Internationalist takes you beyond the headlines to give you a fresh global perspective.
